New carriers in the Orlando area usually ask us the same thing first: what happens at the new-entrant safety audit, and how do I avoid failing it? Here's what FMCSA says.

What the safety audit looks at

FMCSA monitors a new carrier for 18 months and conducts the safety audit within 12 months after operations begin. A federal safety investigator or a state enforcement officer usually does it at your principal place of business. During that time you're expected to operate safely, keep records up to date, inspect and maintain your trucks, and pass the audit.

Violations that fail the audit automatically

Our Basic setup includes a new-entrant audit prep checklist. The Full setup adds a mock audit, D&A consortium enrollment and DQ files for up to 3 drivers.

Also on your list

If your trucks run interstate and meet Florida's IRP weight or axle thresholds, you'll need apportioned registration through FLHSMV. Annual UCR registration and a BOC-3 filing round out the basics.

How we help, and what it costs

Government and third-party fees (UCR, IRP, IFTA decals, the process agent fee) are paid by you and aren't part of our price. Full details are on the pricing page.
